hey, i am trying to make this effect for a poster in my photography class and i have no idea how:( can someone help me please?! thankyou:D

All it is is a large soft brush a slight cream colour painted on a new layer then blending options adding a slight orange tint in the outer glow option then setting the layer mode to screen
 
The 'globes' look like one and the same image just coloured slightly differently and resized accordingly, either a brush of the moon, or just a moon image played with and pasted in.
 
oops my bad was doped up earlier misunderstood yeah you can get a set of planet brushes from somewhere like here Planet Universe Brushes choose the 1 that suits you best paint on a new layer create a new layer add a gradient overlay set to colour of red to green in colours and you should be done
