Hi guys,
So I recently got PS 2020 on Mac. I used to use the CS6 ver. on my Asus laptop which was fine back then.
I've been trying to figure this out all day but nth seems to work. I make banners and stuffs mostly on PS.
So whenever I open up my blank canvas which is usually 500 x 250 px the canvas that opens up is true to its size but for some reason seems really small on PS itself. I've trie uploading the image to other sites and check the size it is 500 x 250 indeed (even tried the other default banner sizes) but just seems really small in PS?
And another issue is whenever I drag an image to the blank canvas I wanna create, the resolution of the image drops and I get a bad quality product on the canvas.

Is there any solution to this? Its super frustrating. Thanks in Advance! :))
PS sorry if I posted this in the wrong section!

Hello and welcome. You posted in the right section.

500px x 250px is very small. Ps displays the canvas at a 100% zoom. If you want it larger, you have to increase the viewing size with zoom. I use Cmd + ( + or -) or Cmd + 0 (zero/zed) which is fit screen.

Or you can use the Zoom Tool (Z) which also has a button for fit and fill screen. I only use fit screen so I don't have any hidden edges/margins.

And another issue is whenever I drag an image to the blank canvas I wanna create, the resolution of the image drops and I get a bad quality product on the canvas.
Not sure about this. You may need to explain further with details. Is the image larger than the 500x250 size? Is the before of after transforming? ???

Maybe your canvas and your image (which you wanna drop) have different resolutions?

Thank you! :)
and yes the image is larger than the 500x250 size and the quality/resolution drops after transforming.

They do but this was never an issue with the older version of PS in the different comp.
As I stated earlier, you will have to provide more information on this...............like examples with details. This should not be an issue. I can't replicate your problem without details.

You can try to uncheck "Resize Image during Place"
Yes I agree. Go to preferences and look under general.

yes the image is larger than the 500x250 size and the quality/resolution drops after transforming.
If you drag and drop onto the canvas, this automatically converts the image into a smart object. The whole reason for this is to maintain quality after any transforming up or down. When viewing at 100% zoom, there should be no quality loss. Zooming in you will notice aliasing.
