Help with Photo Restoration.

I gave it a shot, but honestly it's so blown out that there isn't enough information there to work with. If I brighten up the faces, the backlighting blows up. I can improve it a little, but not enough to make a showpiece out of it. Sorry, my friend. I don't think there's a lot of hope for this particular photo.

Can't you just take another picture of the two of you? If you can, you'll be done in seconds and have a much better looking result than asking someone to spend a lot of their own time, for free, trying to fix an error you made, and, even at best, the photoshopped "fix" will never be anywhere near as good as if the photo had been taken correctly in the first place.
