Help with my daughter's baby photo!

This was my first attempt with the home studio and I didn't have ideal settings to pull off the effect. Would someone be so kind as to photoshop the bright white foreground into the background? Thank you!!!

Two layers, first layer i did a magic wand selection (just for speed to this reply) on the top portion, on a new layer i filled the marching ants section with white from original image, remove marching ants then do a blur filter to edges of white layer apply to original.

Nice idea, I think the baby needs some color adjustment, it's a little too yellow.

And the pinks are blown out too, also very blurry around bonnet too.

Yeah, when I did it brilliant white, it took away the feeling of depth to the image. Here's my take on it.
