help with lighting effect tool

When I use lighting effect tool especially 2 o'clock spotlight option I always get horizontal stripes in the image (10ish). Stripes are tiny but visible especially when zooming in. It does no matter what I do stripes always show up together with lighting effect. Surely these are not supposed to be there?
So questions is what am I doing wrong? Is one setting incorrect somewhere (not that I change anything to get the stripes)
So appreciated of any and all help!

What resolution is the image you are working on? Do you see the banding problem in your Photoshop PSD or is it only after you save the file as a JPG, GIF, PNG or other format?

all files have same effect

Tried use effect with raw, jpeg, pds files, no difference always get lines over image.

Im thinking a layer mode is set for the layer in question or another layer that's causing it

cant add links... not enough posts

I cant send example because I dont have enough posts!? no links allowed.

It does not matter what the original file is it still does this., jpeg, raw... I just tried with jpeg pic and only did lighting effect 2o'clock , nothing else - no change in layer setting etc. And got horizontal lines in pic.
3872x2592 pixels, resolution 240dpi
