help with changing background colour

Hi, I would love some help or ideas on how I can edit background colours in images similar to the attached. I have an online fashion shop and I would like the product on a plain white background.

I've now started taking my stock photos using a white background, however I have HUNDREDS of products already photographed with this grey background and saved as JPEG files. I'm just trying to find a way to avoid photographing all of these items again!

I've tried using the select tool around the item, then copying into a blank layer, however I lose quality in the image, it's like the select tool is only getting bits of the image.

In this case, the pen tool is the weapon of choice.

You will need to make a selection around the inside of the bracelet then delete. Then make another selection around the outside, inverse the selection then delete.

After that, slightly refine your edges. Then your good to go.
