Hi! I'm new to Photoshop CS6 and previously I had been using GIMP for 2+ years. I'm really enjoying my time using PS so far, but I am stuck in this tutorial:

At the bottom after I adjust the color curves, the next (optional) step is to use the brush with color to dodge/burn certain areas. However, when I attempt this, I get nowhere near the results that he did. I was using Hard Round brush, with 0% hardness, and the blend mode was set to Color Burn on 15% opacity. Am I doing something wrong? Could you give me some tips to improve my results? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it! :)

Hey santa, when he says "You can add more colour to the image, and dodge/burn the following areas to increase the image depth:

He's adding some kind of color adjustment layer or fill and NOT using the dodge and burn tool to add the color. Simply put, the dodge tool lightens the pixels, and the burn tool darkens the pixels.

You can post images.
