I'm having trouble replicating a .bmp image. The true image size is 800 x 480 and 72dpi, however the properties tab in windows show it is 800 x 480 and 96 dpi. When I build a new file in photoshop or try to edit and save the original file the properties of the new or updated file show 72dpi. Why is this?

72dpi is the default resolution for Photoshop and web based images. Here's the thing, images created at 72dpi and 8000dpi will not look any better than another on the web because browsers can't display more than 72dpi's anyway. The high resolutions come into play when an image is created for print work. Note the meanings behind the abbreviations here:

DPI = dots per inch
PPI= pixels per inch

Thank you so much for the reply. I need to recreate a file with the exact same properties. Is there a way to do this? The image must be 800 x 480 and 96dpi?

Well if your using Photoshop than set these parameters in the New File dialog box. Here's a screenshot.

Hi dear am newbie here and i want to ask a question which is that I already saved it as a bitmap, so I don't need help with that part. I just really need to know, in easy terms, how to upload a bitmap from Microsoft paint (MS paint) to the internet. I already know what page, but HOW?

The easiest answer is that you don't upload anything from MS Paint. You upload files from your computer to an FTP account in which you have access to. If you have access to the hosting account for the page you want to upload an image too, you might be best served by requesting their assistance. We don't know the page you want to update, so the suggestions we give might not be the best.
