Hello,

This is my first time trying to animate anything especially in photoshop.

I am following a little tutorial on youtube about rotation of text/shapes and trying to do a small logo animation but I am having some problems getting my head around it.

I am attaching a quick drawing (really quick just to get my message across) to show you guys what I am trying to achieve.

step by step image:
animation parts.JPG

Part 1.

I got that covered, youtube tutorial helped me get this one done. A Diamond shape would slowly rotate 90 degrees and stay like that.

Part 2.

This is a problem for me. Once the first diamond shape faces forward I need another diamond shape to slowly slide down across from it and stay like that.

Part 3.

I need some text to slide sideways from the first diamond (from behind the diamond). That would be just 3 letters sliding to the left and 2 letters to the right.

End.

If someone please could explain to me how I can achieve part 2 then I should have part 3 under control.

Thanks

This is similar to what you are asking i think.
Made a new image via transparent layer adding a square shape then colouring it in, made several copies of the same image, but in each i darkened and lightened edges to give illusion of shadow.
In each of the next frames i moved the shape out of square and into a squashed shape to give the effect of movement, making sure that the top point is in same position in first part of spin, then i just twisted image in subsequent frames and moved down making smaller then larger as it flew towards screen.
Hope this helps a little in your quest?
My explanations are usually rubbish, so don't worry if your scratching your head even more now ha ha.

yeah I am scratching my head a bit now. I am using CS6 photoshop and maybe perhaps there is some tutorial or some easy step by step guide that could help me out only with my part two.
