I have been trying to create adjustment layers but my photoshop just doesnt respond normally. When I click on adjustments > curve, I should be getting a new layer linked to the curve icon in my layers box. But all I get is the curve icon, I can't modify this "layer" coz I get a message saying this layer can't be edited because it's empty (applies to any kind of adjustment). Here's a screen cap, hope you can help me with this, million thanks !!!

Hi, I've Never heard of such problem but did you try resettings your preferences ? I hope this will fix the issue. If not then does this happen with every file or just a single image ?

To reset photoshop preferences on Mac Follow these steps :

hold Command+Option+Shift while starting Photoshop to delete the preferences.

Here's a simple fix...

See your mask panel on your picture in the background, that's where the problem is.

Go to your mask panel and click on this.

That should sort it for you.

Thanks alot that helped ! But I just saw that I had to click each time on that icon in masks when I want to create an adjustment layer, it doesnt create on its own, is this normal ?

That was my guess, in the mean time did you try completely removing and reinstalling photoshop ?
