when drawing something, the line will skip to another part of the page and carry on drawing, then go back again. it leaves a faint line between the two, and sometimes another on its way back. its so annoying and is making drawing/painting almost unbearable.
its happened in cs5 and 6. sometimes it will be once in a while, sometimes every other stroke. i've googled the hell out of it but cant find anything (maybe im not wording it properly). i'm using a cheap tablet and pen (trust flex), but it doesnt happen in anything else(paint etc), only photoshop.
i hope this tiny picture shows what im talking about enough to understand it. thanks for any help

I know exactly the problem you're having. This actual happened to me a long while ago and I couldn't figure it out. It's something to do with shift though I think. As when you hold shift and use the brush it will draw a straight line from where you last were. I think I solved it by resetting the Photoshop preferences.

i reset the preferences and it worked, for about five minutes. its really doing my head in. i spent most of my time pressing ctrl. z!

could be just 1 of your pressure sensors has gone it is a common fault with cheaper tablets they take more ware in the center and either stick making your tablet behave like your using 2 stylus/pens or they just die. try reinstalling your tablet and getting a decoration style rubber rolling wheel (like you get at art supply stores for screen printing etc) and just roll it over your tablet to see if it unsticks it

Is your shift key sticking? I know mine is right now and cause all sorts of weirdness with the tools. Time for a new keyboard!

well i just took the batteries out of the keyboard and it still did it so its not that. i've tried everything i can with the pad but its still doing it, so it looks like im just going to have to find some money from somewhere and get a new one (and better this time)

thanks everyone

yeah replace your keyboard.. It's happened to me before I just replaced my old ones, it's solved my problem.. good luck!

it wasnt the keyboard, i took the batteries out of the keyboard and it still happened. i bought a new tablet and it doesnt happen anymore, so it was the cheap tablet that was the cause
