Help to Photoshop Background out!

Found this picture of DJ Soundwave on the internets and would love it in shirt form, but have journeyed to the darkest depths of the internet to conclude the item is no longer being circulated. If someone could remove the light blue T-shirt from behind the image and replace it with a solid color that isn't close to the colors within the graphic (Ex. Green) I would be able to print a custom shirt of the image. I am at the mercy of you almighty God's of photoshop!

REWIIIIND! The link is broken when I go to buy now. This was the issue with all the sites I found that listed the shirt was for sale and then rerouted you back to the hot topic site where it was originally sold

Pen tool click around image to save, i then applied 'cut' to make new copy, stroked with coloured edge and made a new layer of that. Overlayed the second to bump colours.

My last request is when using the custom T-shirt site (customink), the software has a bit of trouble getting the textured black-to-white edges completely out if I choose a shirt color other than white. If you could make the background the same color purple as the image below, than it will not be noticeable at all. If this is too difficult or more work than you bargained for, just let me know and I can always get a white T shirt instead. Thanks!!!

This is EXACTLY what I wanted!!! Thank you all so much for the help. This is what the shirt will look like with the front and back. I would love to know what you all think of the design if you have input on how it may be improved or if you think the back design is a little much. Thanks again!!!
