Help regarding cross processing (?)

Im pretty much new to photoshop, all Ive done is play around with brightness and contrasts and stuff. I recently saw a movie poster and I loved the way the colours were done. See:
Its pretty bright and vintag-y. Is the effect something called cross processing?
How do i get a similar effect? Thanks in advance.

That link should help you, although the artist has added extras in this photograph with warm lighting effects which are more than likely just painted in with soft brush on a different blending mode.
