Help needed..new to photoshop

Hi there, just got CS5 but am brand new to all of this!!

I was trying to make a logo for my fledgling company but nothing is going to plan!!

I wanted a yorkshire rose like this:

but looking 3D and chrome plated
with the text ' North Yorkshire' curved above the rose (chrome again with drop shadow)

and 'Electrical Services' curved under the rose (again chrome)

I have been trying for two days solid and got nowhere!!!

I suppose thats better than stupid comments What is it you want to know? Do you have a 3D program?Meaning CS5 Extended....
 
I give up.makes no sense to me at all!!...looks like I will have to pay to get the logo done, and let photoshop gather dust on my hard drive!!
 
lol if you take your time you'll figure it out and save a few bucks while at it
 
The problem is you are trying to run before you learn to walk. PS has a rather sharp learning curve. If you need a logo sooner rather than later, I'd suggest the paid route. If you have plenty of time, start reading and learn the basics first.
 
iDad is exactly right. Take your time, figure it out. The skills you learn with this project will allow you to do your own changes and projects down the road.

I would help, but I don't have CS5 so 3D is beyond me. Good luck!
