Help Needed Creating a Mask

Hi,

I want to know if I can create a mask on a photo I have, basically Iwant to remove the background but I want to put some form of mask over the some of the photo so that no of the brush stokes etc alter that part of the image..

Can this be done at all with CS3?

Im not sure exactly what your looking for. If you wanted to you could just use the pen tool to create a path and extract a certain part from a photograph. Then just put that on a blank background.
