Help me to find any "closely" tutorial to achieve this effect

Hi guys, I just want to ask if someone can help me finding a tutorial closely to this picture
(Taken from the film "I am number four")

Dunno of a tutorial around for this effect.... EXPLOSION EFFECT?

Sometimes you don't need a tutorial.... coz the tools are in PS.

If I'll try my hand on that, I'll isolate the foreground elements (girl & closest tree) on a new layer .

Below that, a layer with the cloud filter applied to it and apply a hue and saturation adjustment to it to get the red flame explosion. Use the eraser tool set on airbrush at a low setting to delete/fade/soften unwanted cloud parts to suit my liking.

Use the paint brush on a couple of layers above and paint choreograph in the debris.

Then blend the elements playing with layer modes and opacity.

probably add in a second cloud layer to opacity blended to add more or decrease the atmosphere effects.


Not the best idea but something for you to experiment with.......
