Hey guys,

I need some help with a Vector brush I downloaded from: http://paulw.deviantart.com/art/36-Vector-Brushes-for-CS-1-2-3-78988725

I need one of the symbols (one below) for a logo but when I enlarge the brush in Photoshop the rounded edges pixalate...

Can anyone help me fix this problem, I've tried things like using quick selection and refining the edged (bringing them in) or feathering the edges etc. But it just doesn't look professional and decent for a logo.

Here's the direct link: http://i47.tinypic.com/zjch93.jpg

Can someone please help me out. I need the edges where the red arrows are pointing to be smooth. If anyone can do this and wouldn't mind creating a brush pre-set and sharing that would be fantastic!

Kind Regards
ASC

Since the image is large...

Create a new layer over this one.
Use the rectagular marquee to create an exact duplicate of the square. Hide layer,
Use the shape ellipse tool on a new layer and warp the shape to the curves on the original image.
Duplicate and move to other corner .
Delete excess from square layer.
Merge the 3 layers.

Hi dv8_fx thanks for your comment. I haven't ever used Illustrator to be honest with you only ever Photoshop. What would I have to do...?[/QUOTE

In illustrator, you can use the same procedure above with a few slight difference in tool use.

But the output is a vector - crisp and sharp. Which you can import the AI file output to PS . For as long as you don't re-size it drastically in PS , it will retain its crispnes..

When you guys are saying 'high resolution' what settings on a new .PSD file are we talking about?

I put a Yellow background on this to bring out the edges slightly better. The arrows are the points i'm not entirely happy with. As soon as the curves start; the curves just don't flow into or from the straight edges. I've tried cropping the edges pixel by pixel and checking if it makes a difference but no joy so far...

Any ideas on how to get these last few tweaks adjusted?

Looks like you didn't align the arc flush to the square.

I'm inclined to suggest using the pen tool to create the entire thing. If you are up to it give it a try. It takes a bit of getting used to.

Hmm I'll try giving it another go but it was as flush as I could get it. I even placed straight bright red lines around the shape so I could get the arches flush...

I'll give it another try if no luck then I'll give the pen tool a try
