Hi everyone let me start out by saying i dont really have any money to pay for this so was hoping one of you can do this for free. I will not be making any money off of this design. I just take pictures as a hobby and post on various of car forums. That being said i take pictures of cars at all of the local car meets in my area and wanted a nicer looking watermark. I want it to say "Silverman Photography" and have a nice car related design. Im not asking you to spend much time on it. Just something you can come up with quickly that makes it relate to cars. Thanks in advanced

Making a watermark logo is one of the basics in PS....What version do you have, we can post up some links...

i have adobe photoshop cs5.5 I was actually looking for one of you guys to come up with a design for me. Im bad with coming up with ideas to make the logo. i do know how to make it once i have the idea. I was just looking for some ideas on what to do (for example for a few of you to do some sketches and then i will take those sketches and make it into a design in photoshop)

Sitting here watching Super Bowl. I may be able to make something, but I won't post it if it sucks . . . To prevent wasting time, do you have a vision and can you post your present watermark (understood if you say no  <----- you, lol).

Do you have colors in mind or want it a standard greyed out variety? Should it be classic inside a circle or rectangular shape or do you prefer irregular, freeform lines for the words to follow? Is there a particular font or range of fonts you'd like and can you post the names of those? Just an idea of what some preferences might be.

Thanks, Aunty Clare

My watermark right now is just my name in regular serif font. i dont really have a vision. I have been thinking about it for a few days and cant come up with anything since im not that creative when it comes to designing logo's(which is why i decided to drop out of the arts department in college) I do want it to be car related since all i take pictures of is cars. I do not want it to have basic shapes. I like irregular shapes. I also want the text to fit into the design and not look out of place. The font i was leaning towards a script so it looks like i signed my name but i am open to suggestions since not every design that type of font will fit in good.

i do appreciate you trying to help me. even if you dont like how it comes out please feel free to post anyway because i might have some suggestions on how to improve it.

Half-time always bores the heck out me so I made one. It's very simple but I don't think a watermark should be complex especially since it will be relatively small.

I know!
I don't know why the attachment manager does this to me. But you see what I meant? This is nothing like what you want. But I think I have an idea. Funny, my font was set to a nice modern script!

This is nothing like i was thinking of but i do like it. Maybe change the font of the word "photography" to something a little more less basic but not something to crazy that it takes away from my name. I really do like the font you used for my name "silverman". and one thing im thinking of not sure if it would look good but maybe put a set of car wheels on either side of the word photography to make it look somewhat like a car.

more ideas:

Just noticed that my pen tool line is not smooth. I'll fix it if you like it. Or if you like the car idea, but would like a different shape, I can do that.

I have tried putting them all in a picture and the last 3 are little complex for it. I think you are right that simpler is better. I also need this to be able to stand out a little and not blend into the picture but at the same time not to draw to much attention away from the picture (i hope that makes sense)

Yes i mentioned rims earlier. I think the first design you did would look good if you add some rims and change the font for the word photography to something a little less standard. And maybe try a few edits with some color to help lift the words off the picture a little (please let me know if this doesnt make sense)

This is a better idea. Rather than me searching for and trying out half a dozen different fonts, why don't you take a look around http://www.dafont.com and find one of the free fonts that you like. You can type in your name and see a preview of what it will look like with the different fonts. When you've found one you like, just install the free font then type your name under the image in photoshop.

Here's a white version on clear background (you probably won't be able to see it on here, but just click below this line; it's there)

I totally agree with guru rufi. Pick out a font you like. He used vintage chevy! Don't know what it's called, lol.

It seems to me that the aperture image would make great "wheels." Together we will will this battle! Rufi, he does want the word photography. I don't think though that it should be anything other than a very basic sans serif font or it will clash with your name. You could look for one that has a bit more curvature or some other subtle flourish. I will leave that to you. Another question, what layout appeals to you? Did you like the arc'd 'Silverman" or do you like it better straight across? Rufi, I'm not sure what the streak is, abstract motion? Purely design element? It's nice, but I don't think it will fit with his idea, just like my auto icon didn't make it.

I think between the two of us, and anyone else who jumps in, we should get something. Do you mind if I use your aperture idea? I was already working on one with a rim, but dinnertime, nap time . . . I already used the wheels on either side of the word photography to simulate the car idea but it could be more apparent . . . I'm waiting for those font suggestions.
