Help! Confused with slices

Hi Everyone! I'm doing a website project for my grad class using a web template from templatemonster.com. I'm not a newbie with Photoshop, but I've haven't worked with slices before. I've followed tutorials and was able to change the background and other features using slices, but I'm having trouble with my company logo.

After expanding the slice & changing the text (saved as web device), the logo is distorted when I view it in HTML:

Did you save the images as jpeg ? i usually get that if i save as jpeg but really low quality.

I think the second slice after the modification didn't hold or you just need to open up the image box to show the rest of the image since it was modified.
