Help change this car black Please

Im having a hard time changing this car black!

Please help!

I would select the car(although seeing the edges very tough with black) I took a guess
duplicated layer>duplicated car> lightened up first dup layer > used curves on just the car then removed windshield, lights etc........ being black and the lighting (combined with that low resolution)you loose a lot of detail in the car lines

There's a lot of methods to do this, including the one aforementioned, which looks great by the way. One way I change these kinds of pictures is to duplicate the layer, or select the object that I want to alter, then paste it, which will create a new layer, then alter the tones using image - adjust - select colors - neutrals. Then erase whatever I want eliminated and merge the layers.
