So I have an image that I am going to get printed. I want to use spot uv printing on it and I need to create a blacked out version of the logo on a separate file to show them where the uv print is supposed to go. How do i do this efficiently? Thanks.

could you be more specific you need to know exact dimensions and location in order to create a file if you can post an example of what you're talking about you may get more replies.

If you have the logo on a single layer, You can CTL+click the layer thumbnail, and it will create a selection around every occupied pixel in the layer. Create a new layer, click on the new layer to hilight it in blue, change your foreground color to black, and hit ALT+BACKSPACE (or edit>fill) to fill it with black.

Will that work?
