Hi,

I am trying to use actions with batch, so edit a bunch of images.

It has always worked for me, but suddenly it starts overwriting the images, because it uses the same name for all images it edits.

How do i make the Save for Web use the images existing filenames, so it dont create one image and keeps overwriting that single one?

When i record the saving, i dont touch the file name, so it makes no sense that it doesnt use that file name :-(

Btw, i use CS5 on Mac.

Best regards,
Mat

I think your suggestion would be helpful for me. I will let you know if this works for me Thanks and keep posting such a informative blogs.

Give me a minute to review, Thats a lot of settings you have haha.

Maybe someone else who has more experience with batches will know. But I'll take a look.

Thank you.

it is very strange, because i dont touch the file name when recording the save, so it should use the original file name, but it doesnt.

it uses the filename for the first file, for all files, so it keeps re-writing the same image again and again.

Did you try removing all the filename settings? (I know it sounds obvious, but I'm stumped, I don't use batch settings)

hehe, i dont know how to specifically delete from the export function.

But what i have tried - many times - is to record a new save for web, where i, like before, dont touch anything, but it still the same.

Maybe try making a new one instead of deleting it, and keep it as simple as you can. Choose only the file format you want and quality.
