Hi. I just started using Photoshop CS2 about a week ago. Here is my problem:

I downloaded a special shapes preset and layer styles preset for speech bubbles.

I loaded both in the proper directories.

I have complete use of the speech bubbles special shapes.

The layer style for the speech bubbles is set to fill the bubble with white, give a black outline, and a slight drop shadow.

However, when I select the speech bubble layer style for the layer which I am putting the speech bubbles on it only has a small outline for the shape. In other words it isn't applying any of the layer styles.

I can confirm that the icon for layer style is activated next to the layer name. I can also confirm that when I look at the properties of the layer style, it is set to fill with white, give an outline, and a drop shadow.

Any help?

It sounds to me like you're working with paths and not with shapes. You have to make these things either a shape layer or create a selection from the path as a layer then fill that with pixels for a layer style to apply. Or I guess you could copy and paste the shape onto a vector mask of a filled layer... but really, that's just a shape layer.

Welcome to PSG.
