My name's sean and I am pretty new to photoshop. I just took a class on photoshop introduction (we used cs5 in the class). I currently work in the IT department at my job and none of my co workers have any experience with photoshop. Last year we hired a marketing director who uses the some of the adobe products (although she doesn't know how to use photoshop either) so I am interested in learning more about this product to maybe bridge over some to help her out with stuff and so forth. At my work we have CS4 which after taking the class I see a lot of cool features are not in cs4 that are on cs5 like the content aware fill and stuff. So now I'm talking to my boss about seeing if we can upgrade to cs5 at the job.

anyways I signed up on here to just be part of a forum to learn techniques and be able to ask questions.

Hi, I'm new too. I use CS4, so I'm unaware of any new features in CS5 at the moment, but CS4 seems to do the job pretty well. I know quite a lot of what you can do with Photoshop, what are you using it for can I ask?

Welcome to PSG Icefrog.
Just realize, any version of Photoshop is powerful; there is so much to learn and use, you could go back to PS5 (or earlier -- that's my first experience) and still be learning! So enjoy. I applaud you for taking formal instruction.
