My name is Richard, a retired engineer, now living in North Carolina. I began my photographic expedition when I traveled to and began living in India during the mid-1960s. I bought a Nikon, began shooting at everything that looked different (almost everything I saw) and have been shooting ever since. My prize was perhaps the ten minute exposure I made of the Taj Mahal at full moon, now blown up to a 30 x 40. I basically switched to digital fairly late in the game when I first bought a small Nikon. Its inadequacy to photograph action convinced me to switch to a digital SLR with the Nikon D70, with which I took perhaps 15,000 pictures before dropping it into a lake. My Nikon D200 is still with me. I adopted Photoshop perhaps fifteen years ago and have been a devotee ever since. I purchased the Creative Suite and now am hooked. I am not a professional, i.e., I do sell some digital art, calendars and notecards, but exist financially because I am retired. I participate in local "Art Walks", displaying large prints on canvas, courtesy of my Epson Stylus Pro 4880. I continue to learn. I photograph my active grandchildren, wildlife critters, nature, and my surroundings as often as possible.
