Hello! My name is Diana and I am amateur photog. I love to photograph almost anything from people, architecture, nature; but especially old abandoned barns. I would love to be able to get good enough to enter contests and start up a business doing senior photos, family photos, head shots, etc.

Hi Diana - It's great to have you here. We would love to see some examples of your photos, and if we can be of help when it comes to photography or Photoshop, don't hesitate to ask.

Best regards,

Tom M

DSC_4992 copyFB.jpgHere is one of my latest favorites that I took in Minneapolis at Boom Island Park. A woman mentioned this forum to me on Facebook. I posted a question in the group about PSE....what to save in Progressive Scan means and what does it do & she gave me an answer and also mentioned this forum so I decided to check it out. Thanks for the welcome.

Very, VERY nice!

You would be amazed how many people think they couldn't take a decent photo with a several year old camera like a D50. That's really showing them how to do it!!! You're a gal after my own heart!

Gotta run. More later.

Tom

Thanks so much Tom! I have played with photography for quite a few years with a P&S. Last summer after I had been frustrated with my P&S, about it's limits, my hubby found the D50 at a pawn shop with the kit lens for $100. He looked it over as he has had a SLR for over 20 years, and found it in good condition. That he found a good DSLR camera that cheap was the only reason I bought it. I did not think I would get the hang of the whole SLR stuff. I am hooked now, & then he bought me a fab Tameron 70-300 VC F/4-5.6 lens for me at a local camera shop used. He has one like it for his Canon that he loves. After I get better at it, figuring out how to shoot in total manual setting, then I will start saving for a better camera with more megapixels and a bigger lcd screen, etc.
