I have a weird deal too. Not ready to start a new thread. Been having a few bugs lately. Sometimes after I restart the PC, it's fine. Then I'll be working for hours and no trouble. Then all of a sudden, something weird. The one that bugs me the most is when all my layers will grey out when I click on them. I have to double click for layer fx, control click to link layers, or apply a mask, then add a mask to select the layer. It's a real pain in the butt. Resetting preferences doesn't help and like you, that is something I hate to do, having to go back in and reconfigure. Oh well. I'm going to have to start writing down the different things and when they happen and see if there's a pattern.
Speaking of guides, the other day I couldn't get them to work at all. Every time I tried to pull one over or down, the preference window would open. Maybe a reinstall, but that's an even bigger headache. We'll see.
