Hi,
I have a shape that acts as a temnplate to go around a cup and therefore is its a odd shape, see below

Forget the circile in the middle, what i need to do is create a grid of lines that are around 20cm apart both Horizontally and vertically that follows the outline shape so they can be used to line up text / objects via warp tool. So towards the horizontal lines they will start off slightly curved near the top / bottom and get flatter toward the centre and for the sides start off angled and get verticle toward the centre. Hopefully that makes sense.

Is there a way to do this or does it all have to be worked out manually?

Thansk in advance

  • Start with your template shape.
  • On a new layer, create a rectangular grid with as many internal gridlines as you wish. Size and position it like this:

  • Now go to Edit>Transform>Warp. In the customize drop-down box, select Arc.

  • Adjust the Arc bend angle to fit your template. 17% works pretty good.
  • Use Edit>Transform>Scale for any final tweaks.
