I'm hoping to not only be inspired but motivated to spend more time on graphical work than I do now.

Currently it has been about 2 years since I updated my Wife's website and she is asking me to create a more modern looking logo. However! According to her, I have a less than modern taste in presentation. So I'm hoping for some direction and/or constructive direction in my VERY SIMPLE logo. I'm not too sure exactly what I can do to this. It's pretty basic and I can't really add much more - being that it belongs to an educational site.

Anyways! Thanks for any input...

perhaps change the font, and make the colors look less faded

I need to pretty much stay with the font, unless there's something close in nature. The colors, however, I can do something about.

unless you can radically change the design, I think the font is what makes it look old fashioned the most.
