This is my latest thingy lol. I kind of like it for once, but I think I should maybe have had something over their heads to look at, but I ran out space up there lol. I have heard that you can somehow make more canvas space by using the crop tool or something, but I don´t remember how. If anyone knows please tell me :)

Oh no not again! I don´t understand why some things I post here turn out all blurry, it´s only some things not everything, I don´t get it grrr.

One method. In menu Image/Canvas Size...
canvassize.jpg
Grow as needed.

Second method with crop tool. For first time setting crop area it bound to document size automaticly but if you release it and start to seting crop area agin you can go out of document size. And then just crop it'll "add" area which is outside document but inside crop.

First method is more precise but with second you can adjust on you art sence. Your call :)

Thank you Senior S! Yes! that sounds like what I remember, I will save this for reference! :)

I like it as it is soft effect it could be your monitor settings. by the way you can crop the image on the canvas select it all but before you apply it you get corner boxes like the transform tools just extend it and it will create the larger canvas

I found it I did a quick tutorial a while back on this but forgot to mention when transforming the canvas if you hold down the alt key and extend in then it will keep your image centered still

Lovely! It feels Indian... kinda....for some reason

Oh please no; don't put anything up above. What you have now is a gestalt, a cohesive design and the figures are part of it. They are design elements much more than they are models. This is a very pretty piece in the art deco style and I think it would be something entirely different if you added something outside of its containment. Right now, it is very organic.

Here are some images from the net (Steichen & Barbier) you might like that I think have similar qualities. (take a look too if you're not already familiar at Gustav Klimt, art nouveau):

Wow thank you Clare! Yes, I could tell myself that this was better than what I usually make, and the weird thing was that it felt completely me, I didn´t look at any tutorials or anything, and I really enjoyed doing it.
It felt like this was the kind of thing I should be making, and not trying to copy anybody elses style. I am so glad you said what you said, it confirmed what I was was thinking.

What I meant by putting something above them, was that I was thinking of some kind of text. I feel drawn to typography things, but it really is hard. You really did a great job on your last ones. :) I think I need to follow some more text tutorials so I can learn how to incorperate it into pictures.

Thank you again! That really made my day! :)
