Few days ago I got Adobe CS3 Master Collection. Everything is fine, but there is one problem: In Photoshop grayscale images look brown or sepia. The screen itself is neutral, no color tints and I installed the driver. This problem only appears in Photoshop, Illustrator and not in other programs like Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Corel and ACDsee. In those programs grayscale pics look neutral. It has no effect when I disable the color management in Photoshop. RGB pics look great. When in desaturate RGB pics they look neutral grey but as soon as I convert them in grayscale, they become brown. In Photoshop's color managemet I can select a profil for RGB colors as you can see in the screenshot, but for grayscale I couldn't find a profil. Even in the internet I couldn't find one for my monitor.

Please click the link to view a screenshot and the settings.

hey. I had same problem but with Adobe Elements 5.0 and came here when looking in google for solution. nothing more found but, ya know, the darkest place is under the candlestick. while ago I came with idea that worked for me:
close yr appication. delete the preferences folder. the one in "...Documents and Settings\ [username] \Application Data\Adobe\..." and restart photoshop.
everything should be back to normal.

I had the same problem

And here I found the right answer, the only thing that worked.

sorry... forgot the link

here it is:
.... well, I can't post any links... I'm to new for that... just go to the adobe forums in the adobe official website, support, user to user forums, adobe product forums, adobe photoshop, photoshop windows (in my case), frequently asked questions, Color doesn't look right in Photoshop or after rebooting computer.

I did exactly what the said and it worked.
