Graphics Tablet

Just seeing if anyone has a suggestion for a good graphics tablet for under $100. Been thinking about getting one since they offer a little better control than a mouse. Not totally set on getting one but it's an option I've been thinking about. Just not sure where to go. I've hear Wacoom is a good one, but are there others?

I use a bamboo which is/was their cheapest tablet. I simply have no need for a big expensive tablet and a lot of others don't either.
The only issue I repeatedly experience is occasionally having to restart my computer because the tablet driver didn't load.
Other than that, it's been very reliable and works perfect.

Went to order the Wacooom bamboo tablet and my card was declined. So I check to see why cause I could of sworn there was way more than enough to get it. Silly me I forgot that I had ordered a moped and just now went through. I have no idea when I will get it. Now the question is what do I do with the new laptop? Keep or take back.

Never mind bout that post, talked to the customer service about the order and they apparently didn't see the cancel order so now they are going to refund the money....

I have a Bamboo Create and it loses the driver sometimes while working. I just unplug it from USB and replug. Normally fixes it.

I have tried that, but for whatever reason it doesn't work with mine, always have to do a restart. Fortunately though it doesn't happen that often. :)

Finally got my graphics tablet. So far it's been a PIA. It pretty much does what ever it wants and not what you want it to do lol. Maybe I'm just a noob and need to practice. Ended up getting the Wacom Bamboo tablet. Not bad for only $75.

I don't know what OS your running, but if it's Windows 7(probably 8 as well), it comes with it's own tablet driver which completely mess with your wacom drivers. If you didn't know this or haven't done it yet, make sure you run msconfig, go to the service tab and uncheck the Microsoft tablet service. The Wacom is almost unusable if you don't. :)

I'm running Windows 8. Found the stock tablet driver, but can't seem to turn it off. msconfig doesn't work with Windows 8. Type it in and it's not found.

Can't help you with windows 8. I heard they got rid of a bunch of standard windows features, much to the anger and frustration of users. If someone else here doesn't know, I'm sure a Google search would find you an answer. :)

Think I fixed it, so far it seems to do as I want it to. I am seeing how ever that when it comes to actual drawing.....I suck lol

Practice practice! Also if you not used to using a tablet, the hand/eye coordination thing takes a bit of getting used to. Also the tablet doesn't have the same resistance and feel of pen/pencil against paper. Took me a couple of weeks to get used to it.

I think Windows 8 is more suited for tablets rather than actual computers. I had to download a program that gives Windows 8 a Windows 7 style start menu....makes things a little easier to use.

Ya 8 was specifically design for touch tablet use, and normal PC users suffer for it. :(
