Looking for good clear and user friendly illustrator tuts (beginner based), anyone recommend any please?

Depends what you are really looking for but if your willing to pay lynda.com has various courses on it that are quite good they also have a monthly section called dekes techniques and he touches on basic illustrator stuff but more to import into photoshop.

But the truth is it is not as easy to find decent tutorials on it compared to photoshop as it is not as popular for hobbiest.
here is a site I use only text tutorials but pretty cool

Thanks for that but i have got most of those from other sites i have been looking around, it is really hard to find good ones.

Honestly though illustrator is not like photoshop picking it up from tutorial to tutorial you are far better off taking a course covering basics.

Lynda.com often have free trial weekends or 5 day trials it may be worth you looking out for that or speak to Clare she is a premium member there and may be able to issue out a guest pass if they still do it I already gave mine out and cant seem to generate a new 1 or find the option they are good as they let you invite a friend for 2 weeks membership for free.

I like tutvid.com. He's got several good vids, easy to understand and follow. I haven't looked over the Illustrator vids but his Photoshop ones are excellent.

Good luck!

Sierra, is tutvid a free site?

I just cancelled my lynda.com membership which I've had for over a year, and hope to renew soon (money's a bit tight for the next month or two). Sorry Paul. The basic membership is $25/mon, $35 for the premium, and you can sign up for one month at a time. It is a tremendous resource for all kinds of software.
