3D Gold Ring with Diamonds

Trying to do some decent renderings of diamonds was a more difficult project I could imagine.

1. I tried to find a Blender tutorial with "nodes" settings for diamonds. I failed.
2. I tried to find a diamond "light setting" tutorial. I failed.
3. I realized that I was once more on my own and without help to solve my 3D problems.
4. I started to work with my own "trial and error" methods, getting every hour a bit closer to the effect I was looking for.
5. This is the final result.

The gems are looking very realistic.

Any chance you could print them on a 3D printer?

As a shape the diamond isn't a very difficult geometric form.
Therefore it wouldn't be a problem to print it in "synthetic material".
But how can you print clear "glass"??? So far I didn't see anything like this coming out of a 3D printer.

Start your own small Blender project, don't follow tutorials.
And don't rush, it'll just make you unhappy.
