Easyish way to create a text effect.
1. create new file
500 wide
500 high
RGB mode
72 resolution
white
2. create text with type tool. 48pt. color black. font can be your choice
(longer the text line the more you have to blur)
3. right click on text layer and select rasterize. (switches text layer from vector to pixel)
4. click layer->duplicate layer then select it as your editing layer.
5. Set foreground to white the edit->fill.
Use foreground
Mode: multiply
Opacity: 100%
6. Blur them pixels! filter->Blur->Gaussian blur
7. Filter->distort->Polar Coordinates. Optionsolar to rectangular
8. Image->rotate canvas->90 CW
9. Filter->Stylize->wind. (default settings)
10. apply wind again ^
11.image->Adjust->Auto levels
12. image->adjust->invert
13. apply wind again
14. apply wind again
15. Rotate canvas to normal. image->rotate canvas->90 CCW
16. Filter->distort->polar coordinates. option: Rectangular to polar
17.On the layer panel set layer mode to hard light.
18. colorize your image. Image->Adjust->hue/saturation.
Check the colorize box and play with the settings.
Set saturations up to the top
Select the Hue of choice
Set your Saturation down to the level you want.
