Hey Mark,

Glad to see you are finally back up and running again!! :righton:

I was starting to go withdrawal symptoms!! 8} :bustagut:

Happy New Year To All!!

Oh i was getting much more than withdrawl symptoms here. [confused]

See what happened was... my FTP program somehow switched itself to "binary" for transfers. I usually always have it set to "auto". So i had no idea it had done this. Well... as anyone who's had experience with FTPing knows, transferring text files through binary mode corrupts the files.

So once i sorted that out and re-uploaded the files, VOILA!, we are back! :D [oops] Man i hate when it's a little thing that causes a BIG problem. :(| :\

I know what you mean, while setting up my new site, the one page kept having a javascript error in it. Couldn't figure out for the life of me what it was (still have no idea) -- so I took the layout from one of the other pages and pasted it into that one!

Result was no errors!

But I use FrontPage 2003 Pro to create my web-sites. When using FP to make them and publish, the program does it for you -- no FTP to hassle with. Although, you can't have ANY spaces or special characters when using FP either. I have used FTP before, and you have a little more leeway when publishing.

I see you use IPB to do yours. Which FTP program do you use? At one point I was using the one recommended by Yahoo!, then switched to FP for ease of publishing -- only sad thing is that Yahoo! doesn't have the FP 2K3 server extensions yet, and limits what I can use on my site! Things like databases, feedback pages (although have figured out a work-around for that) forums and the such!

Otherwise, no complaints from here! I like the program, and will have a jump on the people that don't have it when the server finally gets the extensions! he he! [sly] :righton:

Back online! Well done theKeeper :righton:
I've been using Fire(bird)FPT for a few weeks now and like it.

Thanks Tao, good to be back. [excited]

I use WSFTP Pro guys.

Main reason is that it can tie itself into the shell. Makes for one-click uploading through the main Windows context menu (right-click menu). And it does it without having to open the program so less hassles if that's what you want. It's a very robusk app. A little quirk sometimes, but 98% stable for the most part. Which is a good % i think.

mflintjer... your error was probably just a missing ". hahaa i've had that before.

Love WSFTP.
I use a rather old version.
My big foible with it, though, is passive mode.
