GIF preview VS actual file...animation speeds not matching

Using Photoshop CS3, I have animated a gif using the animation timeline. In photoshop as well as the photoshop 'save for web and devices' it previews fine and in normal time, but when I save as an animated gif, the file plays much much slower (seems like half speed)

any suggestions?
