Hi,

I am completely new to photoshop. I used the gaussian filter on face images. As you know, you input into the filter the radius (smaller radius = less filtered image). However, I need to report the filter that I did in terms of cycles per face width. Supposed I know the width of the face (in pixels) and the radius that I input into the gaussian filter in photoshop, can anyone tell me how to convert this into cycles per face width?

Thanks!

i'm not sure about what do you want , but if I understand well . you have make a circle around the face or what do U want and use ctrl+shift+I to replace the place , and use the gussian filter
. like this,,,

Just make a selection of the face and then apply the filter it will only apply to the selected area. However I think you are better of using surface blur for portrait touch up as that still keeps the features and blurs the skin slightly.

I'm sorry everyone - I think my question was not very clear. What I want is to know is: assuming I know the numerical values of how wide a face is in pixels and the radius value that I input into the gaussian filter in photoshop, how do I convert these values into a numeric value of "cycles per face width"?
