Hey I'm new to PS Gurus, and I was wondering if someone could give a me a moment of their time and let me know where I could find a tutorial on how to create this effect/style in PS.

The effect is question is one that I saw on a website I was visiting for font ideas. Is is where you have an object...lets say for this example is a square and it is filled in full with whatever color you have chosen but at the same time there is an image underneath which is visible as well. I have tried messing with the opacity and colors and even splicing duotone duplicates and I can't seem to re-create this effect.

Here is the link to the website where the example is on the homepage.
FontHead

Is is the pink square where it is written "Volume 10, 20 type face in 11 families". As you can see full pink color while still seeing very clearly the B7W photo underneath. It must be super simple to do but I have googled it and have found no info on this.:frown:

Can anyone help me?

Thanks for your time guys.:cool2:

I used pin light. There are several in this group, pin light, linear light. Try them out. But I also used a deeper magenta to begin with, darker actually. I bumped up the vibrance of the color with a saturation increase and a bit of darkening. These are layer blending modes, highlighted with red circle below:
