so yesterday i was browsing some tutorials, and i found one i liked and downloaded it. it was a .pdf file. so i opened it in photoshop, and EVER SINCE THEN everything i type in photoshop has been monospaced! there is an unneccessary space between each letter i type!
HELP PLEASE~!

umm not 100% sure what the problem is, but i'm inclined to think your character settings got thrown outta whack. it depends on what version you're running, but you should try something along these lines: Window > Character. when the character palette comes up, change the value for tracing to "Auto" (the icon for tracing shows an A and a V with a double ended arrow underneath). if that doesn't work, let me know

I may be way off base here... but if it was a pdf and was something like an ebook or something, you should be able to click the pdf itself and it will open. In other words, you shouldn't have to open from within a program. That has been MY experience anyhow. As for the spacing, I have NO clue!

Kim =)

If you're really desperate and can't figure it out, hold Ctrl+Shift+Alf next time you open photoshop, and it'll ask you if you want to reset your preferences...press ok, and it should be back to normal

However, usually you should open .pdf files with Adobe Reader ;)
