Hi guys,

I'm from switzerland and learning photoshop! I have learned the basics, but now i'm looking for some good tutorials (best being videos).

How do you guys learn and improve your photoshop skills ??

alex

Welcome twiistch.

How does one learn?.... CREATE SOMETHING, EXPERIMENT HOW TO CREATE IT and ASK QUESTIONS when you really can't figure out how to do it.

There's lots to be learned here backed by helpfu forum members.

Enjoy.

Hi Twiistch, welcome to PSG.

We have lots of different ways to learn. For instance, I started with a semester long class. But like dv8_fx says, "CREATE SOMETHING, EXPERIMENT HOW TO CREATE IT and ASK QUESTIONS when you really can't figure out how to do it." I totally agree with that

Oh, and always have a passion for learning it. That is what keeps me learning the harder stuff.

The most effective way is really to teach it yourself. Just like the people before me posted, "CREATE SOMETHING, EXPERIMENT HOW TO CREATE IT and ASK QUESTIONS when you really can't figure out how to do it."

I'll add this. I signed up for lynda.com for a year or so and it was a great learning experience. I'll probably sign up again soon at some future time.

Okay thanks for the advice, I will plan to experiment as much as I can.

What do you guys mostly do ? Webdesign? Photo retouch ?

Since I'm looking for some good tutorials for Webdesign would any of you guys know any ?

Thanks

Hi twiistch, There is no mostly here. Everyone has different strengths and interests. I would say graphic design, photography, and web design are the most discussed, but that depends on the given day, week, etc. If you look at the forum page, you'll see the diverse topics that interest us.

Your questions are ready to move on to a new section if you want to get good, relevant responses. Not everyone is going to look at new intros. Go to Photoshop and Graphic Design Forum, then Photoshop for the web. Start a new thread here and make it clear in the title that you're looking for tutorials. Then you can describe your level of experience and what kind of web designing you want to do, including "I want to learn it all."

You are much more likely to get answers from our web designers that way. Good luck to you and have fun with Photoshop.

twiistch....

It isn't a matter of what any of us do... Everything depends on you - what you want to do with Photoshop. You have to decide on what field excites you.

We have photographers - who use PS to retouch their photos. We have Graphic designers, Architects, Engineers in different fields of specialization who use PS depending on their needs.

There are hundreds of tutes everywhere. If we were to point even 50 of those, you may not even need 80% of that.

So.... narrow down to what you want to achieve then it would be easier to learn Photoshop.
