Illustrator Freezing Issue

Wyehever I try to render something in 3D in Illustrator CS5 it freezes and I have to restart it. What could be causing it?
 
define render do you mean export to PS or the actual rendering of the 3d object if so then I would say it is your graphics card try updating its driver.
