Holy freak....I did an evp session earlier. I'm playing it back on my computer. I ask if it can make a noise or something. I heard nothing when I asked. Just played it back. Right after I ask for it to make a noise I hear 2 taping sounds. No joke either, and no it wasn't me doing the tapping in case you was wondering. I've experienced some weird stuff growing up that I could never explain and now I get this.

Ive listened many times and I dont know if im being silly but it sounds crisp to me like letting go of a mikle button maybe?

I'll have some of what you're drinking..... Nevermind it's to early here lol

The real question is do you actually believe the taps were an answer to your question?

My house makes all kinds of noises. None of which I attribute to anything other than naturally occurring and explainable phenomenon. In your next recording, ask "it" to sing a rendition of Mary had a little lamb, if it does, then you can freak out! LOL!!

My water heater makes a similar noise to the one you recorded!

I find weird that right after I ask for it to make a sound I get that. Now I didn't hear anything at all when I asked that question. My water heater is queit, and only a few feet from where I did the recording.

Exactly!

You may think it's quiet because we tend to tune out common noises that we hear all the time, but a recording will pick it up! Audio and video recordings capture everything! So do your eyes and ears! It's the human brain that decides whats relevant and it will filter what you see and hear. Don't you watch Brain Games on Nat Geo?

There are numerous articles on the effects of minute vibrations of common household objects (such as furnaces and water heaters)
have on the human body.
These include everything from that creepy "I'm not alone/dread" feeling to unperceptible vibrations of your eyeball which can distort objects in your peripheral view and make you think something is moving.

You may have a gas water heater, where as mine is electric. Completely different on how they work. My heater is also electric and I know the sounds it makes. What your saying would make sense if this just started happening, but I've dealt with this stuff since I was 13. Back then I didn't even believe in the paranormal one bit, I thought it was all Hollywood crap. It's not just here at home that I notice this stuff. I've seen a few things that I can't explain at work. Back around August last year I'm cleaning one of the glass doors that leads out on to the patio, in the reflection I see a little girl walking past me. Only other person that was there was a manager and he has no kids. What makes it even stranger is that the area where she walked through there was a wall about 5 foot high. There was no one outside so I don't know what I really saw. There wasn't any customers or anyone but me and the manager. You discredit what I experienced. I may not of heard it with my ears or on the recorder, but when I played it on the computer speakers, that's when I noticed it. I just find odd after I ask for it to make sound I get those two taps. And to answer your question if I watch Brain Games on Nat Geo, I will have to say no....I don't even get Nat Geo.

No one is discrediting or saying that there wasn't two taps after you asked for a response. :)
Skepticism and critical thinking suggest that instead of saying "I cannot think of a logical explanation for what just happened, therefore it must supernatural." You instead start with " just because I do not know a logical explanation for what just happened doesn't mean that the incident has no logical explanation and is therefore supernatural.

Humans are practically deaf, dumb and blind to plethora of natural occurrences that go on around us every second of the day, and when we do perceive things, a lot of the time our limited senses get it completely wrong.

And I'm sorry, but all of the paranormal shows on TV are "Hollywood crap" as you put it.

Best,
Chris

I didn't jump to the conclusion that is was supernatural at first. I did think about what was going on when I did this. Being that close to the water heater and actual heater I would of noticed something then. You may think I wouldn't notice, but I notice every noise this place makes. It's only 500 sq. ft (250 sq ft for both floors). Sure the noise in place can be something else. But how do you explain what I saw at work? Am I losing my mind?

The whole point is that you don't in fact notice every noise your place makes. It's impossible for you to do so as your hearing is extremely limited as to range of sound you can detect.
Just because your ears couldn't detect it naturally doesn't mean that your recording device couldn't and when playing it back allowed you to hear it because of a slight distortion in pitch.

I don't have a natural explanation for what you saw, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. No it doesn't mean you are crazy either, it just means you saw something you can't explain that's all.
