took this with a canon 400D let me know what you guys think this was my first attempt with a real camera and not my n95 as usual and please be as honest as possible and all criticism is welcomed so please let me know what you think

Yes - it's a nice "macro" shot and it gets better in a larger size.
Took me a while tho to see there is text added in the upper left part and even longer to figure out what it said. Perhaps you should try a sligtly darker color text to get better contrast and easier read. White text where the image background flares out is not the best of ideas imo.

but actually i can't determine the main rule of photoshop in this photo plus the text effect..u added blur effect ?
