Flattening


I use it when I am done with several layers that can be made into a single layer. For instance, if I'm working on the eyes of a portrait, and I am done with them.... I know that will NOT make any further changes... instead of grouping them, I can just flatten the layers that makeup the eyes and get them out of the way for good.

90% of the time though, I prefer to group so that it is not a permanent change.
