think of it as less work for you mods to have to go in and edit out every swear word across the forum, less work for you.

but obviously if the swearing was meant as an attack against someone then you know

it just seems logical to have one, but it probably won't be listened to again...

We try to edit every profanity, inappropriate language and flame posts we see across the board. But a few does slip by our sights.

And those that we do edit doesn't get noticed by forum viewers....... silent edit by The Eyes In The Sky....

still saves you a job and saves people who see it before the admin edit it meeh.
i know you guys do a great job, but it just saves you a few things.

i mean, come on, you've got the spam o matic plugin, why not a censor to go with it?

might go one step further and upgrade my invisibilty cloak to a proxy server, is that allowed? out of interest?

There are certain controls that can be added to spam o matic but whether a censor plugin as available, I'm not aware. Besides, we mods have to work with what the site owners or admin have available to us.

It might become a disadvantage to over-adjust the spamomatic filters as it might censor out innocent posts or entire threads. This would cause more work for us in rooting out and approving every single post that was affected.

No worries Z.... we can manage as we have all this while. But it would also help if members would use the report button to give us a heads up on hotspot posts and spam.

oh no i don't mean use the spam o matic plugin, i was saying the admins got that involved to take a load off the mods with all the spamming, there should be a censor function already inbuilt to Vbulletin, could have been another provider, but really all you've got to do is sort out what swear words it filters. it wont delete entire threads it will just replace said word with ***** or ###### as it is on IP board

Great idea! I've definitely seen other Vbulletin boards with swear word filters.
