Hey Ya'll..

Long time no see? I was wondering how to achieve a fading brush stroke effect (the one on the left) I was able to get close with gradient tool but that's not the right way right?

I tried brush settings > Jitter Fade etc. but to no help.

Thanks in advance.

Hey,
Create a circular shape (ellipse tool) no fill and an outline with the desired width and color.
Add a layer mask and select the linear gradient tool foreground to alpha.
Pull the gradient as in the screenshot (make sure reverse is ticked)
You'll end with something like this

Hey EN, long time no see.

I'm not sure if your graphic is animated or static, but either way I think you were on the right track with a clipped gradient layer.

Gradient in position 2
Duplicate the gradient
Turn of the Gradient position 1
Use your free transform and center guides to rotate the duplicated gradient
Add clipping mask

Do this until all positions have been covered.

Note: you can alter the gradient where it interacts with the ellipse so it has a rounded appearance.
