Eyedropper problems

I'm using Photoshop CS6 on Windows 7. I'm having a problem with the eyedropper tool. Whenever I use it to select a color, it sets the background color to the color I picked, if I hold alt it sets it to the foreground color. This should be the other way around shouldn't it? The same thing happens when I use alt + click with the brush tool instead.

I've already tried resetting preferences.

That's correct for the info tool, click for FG, alt click for BG. For the brush however, while painting, you can alt click a color to change the FG. Why you're having the problem, IDK, but also I don't have CS6 to test it out. But others - with cs6 - will be along.

Doesn't Adobe have a site for reporting and listing bugs that may not have been discovered during the beta testing?

I meant that mine was doing the opposite, click for BG alt click for FG.

I suppose they do but 2 of my friends have CS6 and don't have this problem so I assumed it was a setting or something specific that I may have done that was causing it.

Yes, I know that's what you meant. I was agreeing on what should happen. Well, I know it's a pain, but have you tried reinstalling? You might want to go to the Adobe Community website and check there; see if they have a solution for you.

Well, reinstalling worked ^_^ I still wonder what caused it in the first place though :| Oh well, thank you ;)

Oh good. No idea on the what of course. It's just like the glitches that get fixed when you reset preferences. But that was a weird one, not just quit working but switched functions.
