Illustrator extract content from testversion file

Hello community =)
Some weeks ago I downloaded the testversion of "adobe illustrator". I really liked it and made some files. Now the testversion ran out and I really can't afford buying the "upgrade". Now I downloaded a freeware programm I want to use. Is there a way to extraxt the content from the Ai-files and add it to the new programm? I really don't want to start from zero. I hope you can help me.

I think it is about the format you have saved it in and which formats can your new software use. If you find you need to save in a different saves from Illustrator I would try to install the test version on another computer if it cannot be installed on yours again and re-save it.
 
Thank you for the help. I haven't tried it yet but it sounds like a good way. Maybe it's a bit complex but it is definitely worth a try :)
I will let you know if it worked or not =)
