Evil Bird

Hey guys, this is the first photo manipulation I've done in a long time! I bought a new camera recently (Canon 600d) and I had the urge to try and photoshop some of my first pictures / textures. I think it worked okay, but I'm not too sure about the lens blur effect I used - without it it did look a bit flat though. Let me know what you think!

I LIKE IT I think the bird might look better if you ad a bit more of that light source thats giving the bricks some nice contrast. The bird is the main fiocus right, or is it the bricks? It seems lost in the skies darkness, just a thought. Then again there goes the subjective factor in me again.

Thank you iDad, you're right about the bird being lost in the background. I tried to bring it out a bit with burning and sharpening the feathers and using the Lens Blur filter to draw attention to it, but I need to do some more work on it. Noo the bricks aren't supposed to be the main focus, but I do like the way they look

try using brightness /contrast filter with selection of the bird only, a combination of brightness and contrast should be played around with a little bit you might like the result and then burn edges of outer feathers to give it the pop effect:idea:

Hey Dude you are absolutely right. I think here the problem is brick contrast. Another contrast is really stunning but if possible to make the bird of eye as horrible :idea:
